Gardner No. 1 was only used for 2 fire season, it was declared unsafe due to deterioation.
It was completely abandoned in 1945.

In Nov 2019, MLC reported: Used only for two seasons in the 40s. Found to be unsafe. Remained in situ until crown fell down in 1966.
MLC went looking for the tree in Nov 2020. After a lot of bush-bashing they ended up finding the tree almost on the side of the roaad. See photos below.
