From the Collie Mail, Thursday 14th Dec 1939, page 39: COLLIE WAS FAMED FOR IT'S FORESTERS; To safeguard treated areas fire breaks have been made throughout the length and breadth of the district, while a lofty lookout tower was built at Mungallup, a few miles from Collie so that fires could be sighted immediately they occurred. Built 15 years ago the lookout tower affords an observer, who is constantly on duty in the summer months, a clear view of miles and miles of country around Collie. A powerful telescope is in the tower, a telephone line communicates with the forestry office in Collie, and immediately a fire is noticed the supervisor is advised. This system of "spotting" fires has enabled the officials on scores of occasions to quickly subdue fires which might have otherwise swept thousands of acres of forest.

We received a few photos over the years about the foundations that are left on site, thanks to all the contributors.
We've decided to post the latest ones below. They were taken and supplied by Bushy in Dec 2025

Bushy also reported: It's now just the foundations. There are 4 with a center block (maybe for the stairs). Each of the 4 blocks are about 1 meter x 1 meter x 30 cm. There is also a small, partial wall, and a wire anchor point. Access was up a firebreak with I walked up.
