The above photos were taken and supplied by Ian Melody in August 2025. Ian also provided the following comments:
Coming back from Toowoomba I took a detour to film another episode of Lookout 4 Lookouts in the Passchendaele State Forest on the Granite Belt. This is the most southerly of all Queensland's exotic pine plantations. The original Tower was call Amiens #1 built in 1961 to a height of 7.6m. The Passchendaele Fire Lookout #1 was built in 1966 at a height of 36.5m. The observation deck and cabin is inside the Broardcast Tower structure which is close to 100m. It is on a hill, 1021m above sea level. Many names around the area is named after places in France and Belgiun from battles in WWI such as Amiens and Passchendaele.
