The tower was impacted by the devastating fires in Dec 2019-Jan 2020 and the cabin was singed by the radiant heat and needs replacing if still needed.

Andrew Johnstone (DELWP) supplied the following info in Oct 2020: "We will not be replacing the cabin at Jersey West as we haven’t manned the tower for over 20 years, we will however replace it with a viewing platform so staff can still climb to spot ‘smokers’ which is needed from time to time".
The actual tower is owned by Telstra.
