Photo by Gregor Wallace - Feb 1964 and supplied by Peter McHugh in Aug 2021. Peter also reported: This 60-foot tower is one of the
early steel designs and was built by the Forests Commission in 1960/61. Gregor Wallace spent Christmas Day 1963 on this tower so
the regular towerman could have the day with his family. Des Collins can be seen standing on the catwalk.

On the 12th January 2010, the ABC News website reported the following: "Fire authorities say it is unusual for two fire towers to have been left unattended in the southern Wimmera during yesterday's extreme fire conditions. Fire spotters at the Chetwynd and Corndale towers near Edenhope were taken off duty because of heat stress about 12:30pm. CFA incident controller Peter Novotny says the towers were unattended for about an hour-and-a-half. He says it is unusual for spotters to be taken off duty, but that aircraft covered the region until replacements could arrive. "Aircraft are very, very useful in terms of detecting fires and being able to move in the direction of those fires and provide a precise location," he said".

Corndale had it's cabin refurbished in 2013
